Great! I love the idea of a transparent lid so you can see what's happening under the hood

You might want to give the lid a slight sanding so it becomes a little opaque, this prevents any stray beams from escaping if anything should go wrong. They will still pass through the lid, but lose coherence because of the opaque surface and will diverge as harmless beams of light.

if you really have 5 watts, i'd be worried about something falling out of alignment and a beam blazing into your acrylic and covering your optics with burnt plastic smoke.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

at the moment it is 3+ watts measured but left enough room to add more soon + 1 watt of red and 1 watt of blue
only way it could get out of alignment and go to the top is if the scanner would rotate. dichro's are rock steady

just tested it for 1 minute with a static beam 100% power on a spare part of acrylic without any smoke or hole, not even visible damage on it seems to reflect around 5-10% and pass 90% so no big worries on that
