Just another day here in Admin's cloud computed version of Sim City.

I'm deeply religious, and I often get asked "How can you do science and have faith in God".
The answer is simple, every time I remotely think I've got even a small part of how something works in the universe, the big guy upstairs adds another layer. The large hadron collider folks will find another layer, despite all the bragging about this one having the power and detection capability to see the whatchamacallit boson. Even if they did find the last particle, a new universe, at least for them, would spring into being.

If you'd like a really good mystery novel read on the subject, try "Blasphemy", by Douglas Preston, not really a good author, the mystery part of the plot is lousy, but the concept is there.

Now, Robert made a line in the chat, about buying more INT points the next time he reboots PL. So whom are the "Poor lost souls living in fish bowls"????

I am open to reading the book. I have always been a fan of science vs. God literature. Is God real? Who knows for sure. It is a possibility that man created God out of ignorance of natural occurrences that their primitive brains could not comprehend. But if God/Religion gives people what they need, then cool. Who am I to judge what people believe?

The Hadron Collideris one huge , amazing feat of science.....if I could only get past my fear of the thing causing a catastrophic explosion...(I know, paranoia).

Science will never cease, but people stop belieing in God every day.

    Curious, eh?

But surely an equal or greater number must start believing in God.
Otherwise any/all religions that have him as a central figure would die out.

Not that I want to veer off into a God thread cus he's just a figment of peoples imagination.

I thinks that largely has to do with who/what God is to different cultures. For example, if all Christians stopped believing in God, that still leaves Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism etc...etc....

Mind numbing fact of the day. The only difference between a solid wall and a spinning airplane propeller is the rate and direction of spin of a few small things.
