    Default anyone with a 1W red cni (MRL-III-655) ?

    Hi,

A friend own an 1W red cni 655nm, but we measure it and the output is only 700mW.
I have checked the max current, it is 1,3A.
I see some datasheet, and for 1W 650nm cmount diodes the max current seems to be more than 1.3A .

can you tell me the max current ?
Is there anyone who can measure his unit to be sure ?

    Thank's
    Mickael

I would call CNI and see if they can verify the serial number you have to make sure it is really a 1W laser.

I'm sure it's a 1W, it as been measured 1,230mw few times ago,
The problem is the friend have tune the threshold current because it was lasing with 0V modulation.
And now 700mw...I think he had made a mistake with the pots...and now I would like to put the max current, but don't know the exact intensity

I think he may need to increase the main current again, as he's pulled it down with the bias.
Certainly with Flexmods you set the bias first, then the current. If you then reduce bias by 200mA it pulls the main current down by 200mA too.

on a cni datasheet of the diode, the max current is 1,3A for 1W, and on other datasheet from other suppliers, the max current is 1,8A...
