    Try on eBay here

Have you considered the Belkin USB ethernet hub? It does the same thing but is less expensive, and *as I understood* it is the only device approved by Pangolin for its products...

    Edison -

I have the Lantronix UBox 2100, and although I haven't used it with lasers attached, it seemed to work just fine controlling my FB3 over a 50' roll of CAT5 cable!

You might want to check directly on their website - they have dealers listed in the Netherlands:

    www.lantronix.com
    RR

Metrologic HeNe 3.3mw Modulated laser, 2 Radio Shack motors, and a broken mirror.
    1979.
    Sweet.....

The Belkin I had in mind was the (old) network USB hub, this one.

But there is a new device, the Home Base, which offers se same functions but is better. It is here.

Stuka : does the Lantronix needs a router to work or it can work too with a direct pc to Lantronix connection, with a crossed ethernet cable?

The Lantronix is almost the same price in the Netherlands. Well, as long as you're a company and speak to the right dealer/person.

My UBox 2100 worked fine connected through a VERY cheap 5-port workgroup hub, so I imagine a crossover connection would work fine. The cool thing is the UBox software recognized the FB3 as "Pangolin FB3 controller", and not just some generic USB device!

Now that QuickShow is out, I hope to put my UBox and FB3 to work in the near future...

No, this is an USB slave device that provides an Ethernet interface to the USB host.
What you want is a device that allows USB slave devices to be shared over an Ethernet network.
This is more advanced and a smaller market so you pay the price for it.
Keep in mind that the UBOX has an “end of line” state so it could be a problem if you need support or a new driver.
