    Default DMX 2 relay outputs

I think at one time Steve mentioned working on a circuit to decode dmx to contact closure outputs. I tried searching but couldn't turn up anything.

I want to use a DMX controller pad to control my laser beam table, It takes simple logic highs for inputs so 1) I need to a build a circuit to do this (very easy) or 2 use a existing dmx controller (looks a lot nicer) and use it to control it.

Hope I explained what im looking for well enough anyone have something like this ready to go or a schematic?? Thanks

getting a board from dave is really your best bet... it takes a bit of software on the card to figure out what address to listen to and decode the RS485 protocol etc... not quite so simple as just slapping together a few parts, unless your good with micro controllers... in which case all you have to do is decode the RS485 and the documentation on the DMX protocol is out there I'm sure

I won a DMX board from Dave at SELEM. It's a really nice board. The cost of those things is very reasonable so it doesn't make much sense to build one yourself unless you just have a lot of time and want to see if you can do.

If Dave's shop doesn't have what you need, you might also want to try Northlight Systems:

I've tried a couple of their boards, and have been quite happy with them.

Between their offerings and Dave's, you probably won't have to do much in the way of custom DMX interface board building -

ooo their DMX decoders are muy muy sexy... 0-10V or 0-5V outputs

I have a 8channel analogue prototype built, but never got round to finishing it off and producing a few

it would be nice to have a single or triple channel 0-5V DMX decoder... for analog modulating lasers in beam tables or lumia boxes

then a regular relay dmx board for the actuators...

although I am sure an 8 channel analog board would have some use, just haven't thought of it yet

    They work good, too -
That's what I used to supply the modulation to my 1 watt green during SELEM 2009.

I'm thinking of using mine in an I/O box with half of the channels sending 5V analog outputs, and the other half controlling SS relays.

Unless Dave comes up with something else first......
