    Default FAA approval

I have been contacted to do an outdoor laser show for a daytime cheerleading competition at a local school football stadium. The idea is plausible, project text & graphics onto large screens to act like "video monitors" for the bleachers. We're doing our own version of mythbusters tomorrow and testing it to see if the idea even works before I proceed any further.

Logistically the event itself won't be a problem, however I have no idea where to go for FAA paperwork & authorization, what the process involves, or what hoops I need to jump thru. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

I live in the Tampa Fla area, if that's important

    Here you go.....
    http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/...e_rules/laser/

You will probably need your variance number ....needs to be 30 days in advance also.

IF the beams are terminated, do you still need to apply?

Yeah but you can only use a laser if its concealed.

So hide your gun and you commit an offence but reveal your laser and your stuffed!

At least in my country, I can still legally use a ladder.

In our country this right only applies to the intelligent people who understand the guidelines... perhaps for the best when you think about it!
