    Default LeutchQuarze

Could some one fluent in Dutch or German please translate this for me?

If it says what I think it says, bending modes in the overdriven quartz crystal generate high local fields that ionize the low pressure gas.

These were supposed to be used as frequency indicators in WW II German radios.

The tube contains is a low pressure charge of neon gas, a grid voltage is applied to just under the neon strike voltage. When the resonant frequency of the crystal is reached the piezo electric field from the crystal excites the neon.

Mainly used for calibration of tuned circuits.
