click on the search function, type ML520G72 which is the diode in question and then click search.
second or third result is this thread which is entitled ML520G72 -

in this thread is details regarding lens or should i say lack of lens/optics for this diode

    Default diode

there is no easy answer to collimating those diodes they have bad beam and big divergence problems the only man whose has the answer is andyf97 and he is to busy to even complete the group buy he started
have fun trying to get the answer out of him there is no one else that can help
we were all waiting for him

p1t8ull - sell anamorphic prisms for this diodes: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...-prisms-are-go

what you think about this prisms?

you will not get a useable beam at that diameter. It is possible, through an aperture mask, but then you lose most of the power and are down to 100mW. Is that what you want? Try the HL6385DG

HL6385DG - is 150mW. i need power 500 mW. and what optics i need to use for this diodes?

If it was that easy, we'd all be doing it right?

The solution is to use 3 or 4 diodes to get your power.

It's no use having the power if it can't be tamed

    Default prism pair

    hey tonix
p1t8ull's prisms were a group buy with 445nm in mind, they are broardband
so should help a bit but even with prisms you will ve lucky to see anything better than 3mrad, but only with a good lens and you would get a lot of losses, dave on the forum has already tried prisms and failed to get anything worth using, andyf97 was working on a multi lens combination, one of them sits on the front of the diode,
but he has been to busy to work on it , there is a lens combo out there we just dont know where yet
why did you build this red with not knowing what lens to use and even if it was going to work ?? i supose just to experiment ?, i wish i had one to play with
where did you buy your diodes from ?
how do you have your beams set up somthing looks wrong with yours ? two of the beams should be set up knive over so you get this # beam setup
    yours are all knive edged

could this mystery setup, andy f97 was working on, be a fac grin and then a collimator, like the setup ME3 tested recently? i remember something about a very small lens and a very tiny mount to hold it in that post

i mean there are not many things you can do to a diode... either an espheric or a grin and an aspheric (or fiber optic). beam shaping comes after collimating so prisms and cyls are out of the question

thank you for answer. i just want to ask people - maybe somebody know what lens and prisms in the foto that i added. if you have or know where i can buy it - please tell me.
