Handlng of optics?

I have search for topics regarding the handling of optics such as cubes and anamorphic prisms with little success.

I am currently using cotton gloves when handling and positioning optics. What other tips can you offer in order to maintain blemish and mark free results?

If they need a lot of handling to get them in place initially then I put a coat of 1st contact on each face until I'm ready to shoot light through them.

Then I'm generally a bit careful, but always clean again afterwards anyway
