    Default 50mW - 1W -Oxxius- blue dpss !!

Did you know about the Oxxius laser ? (if you did, why did nobody tell me)

Our laser is single frequency, it has low noise and a very narrow linewidth. We also believe our technology is scalable up to powers of around 1 W

The idea with this tecnologi of producing blue is that the price is going low !
And after some months there will be possible to buy it at the same price as a green DPSS ...

This will in turn make DPSS blue lasers an older generation. Maybe that will lower the price as well.
You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads!

We develop and manufacture innovative solid-state laser modules and aim at setting a new standard for performance and cost of ownership in the visible and near-ultraviolet domains.

If I win to the Euromillion lottery this friday (129 millions euro 8) ) I'll pay a blue module like this to each members of this forum

More seriously, do you have an idea of the price of these modules?

I'll bet the price is in the stratosphere for a 1W blue DPSS...

I've seen 100 mw units sell for $1200... Can you imagine the cost for 10 times that power?

Even the "blue-ray" direct-injection diode lasers are pretty pricey, though they will probably come down in price once production of the PS3 ramps up. Still, I don't know how viable they'll be for the laser show market... They're way too far into the violet in my opinion. You need a lot more power to make it as bright as the 473 nm you get from a DPSS blue laser... (Of course, if it's also a lot cheaper, then maybe it would work...)
