Tonight I setup this module outside and beamed from the side of the house towards the backyard. At 18M the beam profile is 15mm x 10mm (wdith x height) which is < 1mrad on each axis. The beam looks very tidy and makes my original 445 in Aixiz with glass lens like like a torch.
The aperture of these housings is clipping the square corners off the beam which appears to help somewhat. A lot of time was spent aligning the prisms to center the beam in the exit aperture.
I used zoof's template, set at Brewster 0 (57 degrees from memory).
Do you think I should pull the prism magnification back a little considering the beam profile at 18M? I am sp please with the final results using Simon's prisms now, I am reluctant to start re-aligning again if there is little point. I am trying to gauge how close to ideal this is right now.
BTW, I had found that reflection off the anodised housing at aperture were causing messy slash around the beam, so I removed the housing and flat black painted the inside with hi-temp stove paint. This has helped a lot!

We had kitatit and his girlfriend over for dinner last night, a really good night it was!
At midnight we decided to take a few beam and profile shots at approx 17 meters, outside in the yard. Unfortunately my camera did not play nice in the dark and the auto-focus just didn't work. Here are the profile shots of 445nm with Simon's prisms and the 400mW CNI green.
I hope kit's photos turned out better than mine!
The beam on the left is a 6xBluRay 405 PBS combined with a 660 LCC. Totally washed out by the 445 and 532. Right hand beam is kit's 100mW CNI module.
