    Default 1watt 635nm 9mm diode

    ive got some 1watt 635nm 9mm diode, i suspect they are no good for scanner use at all.

    but any suggestion on how to sort the beam? or am i correct in saying might as well bin em!

    hey andy lots of gaps in the beam on that last shot
    whats that all about ??
    dont look like the diodes working properly ,maybe parts of the die not working
    When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

    Try a longer FL simple PCX lens and see what you get, anything will do to start with so long as the beam fits
