Default Combining two 200mW red modules

    Ok... I did it

I decided to go ahead a dig out a Beam Splitter I had stashed away

Anyhow , Each module is producing 200mW of 660nm
I get about 350mW out as measured by a Scientech 365
    Not too shabby!!!

This Pix shows the two modules aimed at a BS on the corner
of the aluminum block (It does not show in this pix)
One module has its diode mounted reverse polarization than the other!!!

This shows the beam as it hits the target at 6meters away

This is looking at the source from the target

I need to find more of these Beam Splitters...
I only have two of these and they are quite small 4.5 x 4.5mm
I have a bunch of others but they dont work so well...

Good work... The way is opened to combine 5x 200mW lasers, to have a big fat 1W RED laser

i did try my tiny Beamsplitter cube from my DVD-burner...
And well....  the result was nothing !!

I think that the beamcube was ment to work on a 1mW laser not 100mW !
The output was like 40% \ 10% (Yes 50% was gone in nothing) 8)

To bad that there is so much loss to comine 2 lasers :x
There must be a way to have 100% output !?

    A DVD-burner use a powerful laserdiode (50-100mW), so I think it's not the problem...
Alignement and polarisation are very important when you combine beams. Did you tryed to turn and better align the beams?

I have had no luck finding Pole cubes (BS) in DVD drives
    that would work
I had to buy these special..

Good luck in your search tho
If I find suitable cubes , I will post where to find them
{edit} I did buy a few from ebay and another source..

Stay tuned to this Channel...for more to come!!!

Seriously, its a pain in the ass to combine anything above 2 diodes.

Found this image in a patent issued to Arctos laser in germany:

Talk about a pain in the ass and getting a rather large non circular beam...

Theres got to be a better/more efficient way using PBS cubes and 1/4 wave plates.

use a transparent diode, and another one back that one

    ehmm....

I guess, 8 red laserdiode combined, 4 on one face and 4 on the other face... Awesome !

I dont know what to say !!
    That is so damn sweet......

Now I want to buy like 6 morde red modules and do the same

I maybe understand why everyone got that BIG red beam togheter and then focus it at the end.
Can the reason be becouse it`s more easy to adjust ONE big beam into one small after, and not before... something like that..

anyway... that pictures is a killer
