Default UK source 12v ~5A switch mode PSU please?

I need a PSU for my dual 445 build and wondered if anyone had any good sources in the UK?

I wouldn't mind going a bit over the top on the ampage as I might add a red build later and it would be nice not to have to use 2 separate supplies

    Cheers

    Hi

The one that will do almost anything for you is a pc power supply. I run 2 diode drivers plus 2 Tec's over 8 amps each and it has its own soft start to protect pc motherboards and its 5V and 12V at over 20 amps each at anything over 350W's so good for running modulation and drivers running 12V ect and dirt cheap also!
Defo value for money and many apps btw they only take up a little more space but they dont generate much heat!
    Peace,Respect

    Hi Norty303,

These are a bit pricier that the ones on ebay but they might suit you.

Dave said he uses XP Power power supplies quiet a lot so I had a look at them. They are really nice quality and have some very compact models.

This link is for the 5A 12V version which is only 20 ish mm longer than the smaller 3.75A 12V version I have, shown in the pic below.

I'm pretty sure The UK Farnell does free shipping like they do here.
