I was just told that your prices are dropping. What is the going price for a 650nM 200mw module? Or better yet TWO modules to combine!! What is the recommended optic beam combiner for these?
    Thanx

I ordered my 2, 200 watt red lasers with analogue modulation and already setup for combining through a beamsplitter/combiner cube.
I mounted both lasers on the same block and combined the beams using an MM1 mirror mount and dichroic high quality mirror and another MM1 mount where I custom mounted the AR coated polarized cube beamsplitter.
I had taken apart an old first generation video disc player ( that uses Helium neon lasers ) to harvest the cube beam splitter so got it cheap. Try buying a new one from Edmund Scientific and see what they charge !!!!
So you now know one source of high quality polarized cube beamsplitter/combiners for a good price (salvage cost)
I got slightly over 400 mw from my setup. You need the MM1 mounts to align things properly . I used clear silicone caulking, the type that's paintable and has a 35 year warranty to mount the cube on the MM1. It's very stable, or you can always spend $50 and get optical quality UV curable adhesive.

    Those combined REDS are great.

marconi sells, or did sell, a whole kit with two 200mW reds, opposite polarities, with a beam splitter/combiner all mounted...

Marconi, do you plan on bringing one of the 400mW units to the meeting in orlando next weekend? I'd really like to see a working setup. The beam quality of your units are quite a bit better than the lasever unit, but I'd like to see how 400mW of 660nm compaires to 200mW of 635nm.

    Thanks,
    David

Man, I wish..Im still working on them...
Im trying to make them small and user adjustable...seems a difficult task.
We'll see what happends later on...
I will be bringing a pair mounted and a few loose ones just in case. That 635 will still be brighter, but I wonder about the beam size..Thats the one major thing that bothers me about those 635's that are coming out.

Hi Steve, Glad to meet you..
Yes, we dropped the price by 10USD each for now...
Soon, the price will go up another 20USD this year.
We will also be offering units with upgraded optics in the future as soon as we can establish
a better price for the glass AR ones, they're still 82USD each i'm afraid.
But thats what it takes to acheive the great beam specs we have.

do these units need to be mounted on such a large heat sink, or can i operate them with out it? Or perhaps mount them on a smaller aluminum block.
