Hi Guys,

That one there in the picture is our test sink for various devices
Actually they dont need a large heat sink at all.. A smaller sink is fine.

They were designed for use on a plate or beam table.
You could use them without one for a little while ..

Our units built during the past year or so are more efficient
and dont get hot anymore, still the idea is to keep it cool for the diodes sake.

what would be the ideal heat-sink temperature close to the module for continuous operation?

Hi Steve-o

Anything at room temp is ok, about 70 to 80f. or 20 to 27c

Some have actually cooled theirs by peltier coolers and gained some brightness
however, You got to be carefull not to get it too cool as condensation can set in depending
on your enviroment.
Also, if ran real cool 60f or 14c or below the diode current will need to be turned down,
not so easy as the units are sealed somewhat.
otherwise risk of blowing the diode.
