    Default i fooking hate lasers...

installed my dual 445 into my projector, doubled checked all connections etc

turn it on with no modulation signal and i got a faint light as expected from the 445's. went to get another psu so i could add 5v to the modulation came back and the 445 was dead.

taken it out and seems both diodes are completely dead no light whatsoever.

just what you need when you have a gig saturday and no spare diodes.

i just dont know, im sitting in front of my projector trying to work it out.

there was 12v going in but no modulation signal, so they were out putting like 5mw each. came back to em and they were dead.

checked voltage and its 100% 12v.

im using a die4laser driver and lasorbs, so what ever happened went straight through em

    Default die4drive

hey andy you might of killed the die4drives
i had somthing simalar nearly happen to me but i was watching it
and pulled the plug, i did not think the drivers liked 12v ?
and certainly when not being asked to do anything i found the output fet
got super hot ,not so bad at 9v but it still likes the modulation connected to a dac or pulled low to keep it happy.
just my findings from past use, no probs with red drivers though, just the blue ones
