3 phase isn't the scary part. The fact that it's 480VAC 3 phase at 70amps per leg, is! That's a lot of watts, significantly more than my main breaker is able to handle.

I've GOT that kind of power accessable though. And the electric bill is included in the rent.

Oh, you can look all you like... it's when you get in a tug of war with the Missus over the credit-card that we have to set-up some 'counseling'...

Buut, as long as I'm being a shameless photon-pusher here's what she'll do 'FP': http://www.youtube.com/dslasers#p/c/.../4/a-HnT0bA80Y

...and 'RP' ain't too shabby, either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osjrkWc1eG8

Actually, she'll run quite comfortably off 208-240, 3Ø, with a boost-tranny...but at 150A... (..but that's to run full-full-bore, 55A on the remo...) Really, it can do a hella-bit of power on even a 100A service... Still...

Till the owners saw your first 'post-Sabre' bill... I'll be happy to let ya see it running, sometime, in the Roch shop, if yer ever up that way... Just make sure you bring a change of clothes...

Yeah, this baby is really best-suited for a large-install or University.. I'm really hoping to get Grand Coulee to 'bite' on it, or Client in Thailand that recently had an I-400 go up to air... ..Or maybe I should bump Sir Clan, now that I'm off his s-list... (..I think...)

...Brad? Brad?? Huh, he's logged off... Must be off, praying... "...Get behind me Satan! Get BEHIND MEEEEEaaaaa!!!"

    Question Attention PL Machinists:

...Anyone interested in a thrice of Super Invar rods? Approx. 5/8" x 36", and are guaranteed to break all the non-carbide-tipped tools you can throw at them.. :P

Lemme know, otherwise, they're scrap-bound. $25. each, OBO... which is *not* a small woodwind.

    cheers..

    Attachment 28131

...and does awesome stuff, like this:

    Attachment 28132Attachment 28133

Price: TBD, will-depend on current output power / ampoules-left, or not... don't have offsite documentation of the 'current-state' on this sys.. will test / report, asap... but likely, Head / PSU, will be between ~$1750. and $2500. - a steal for even an 'older' Spectrum WL... great WL laser as a 'my first pony'-level of ion..

    ...Any interest? lemme know...
