LFI Player License?

Just a quickie,
LFI Player is under the GPL, but nowhere in the documentation does it say WHICH version of the GPL....

Does anyone know for sure? I am working on something that is GPL2 and would like to crib the abstract generator (almost) wholesale, but cannot if it turns out to be GPL3.

The link it gives to the FSF always points to the latest version of the GPL rather then to the one that was present when the thing was published, and there is no COPYING file in the source distribution.

I also cannot find an email address for the original author.
