I am by no means an expert, but in the past few years of building my sites and working with some SEO experts i definitely learned QUITE a bit. I can try to give you the pointers they gave me and that i learned.

surprise surprise i want to get my site well ranked on google.

ive installed a site map and submitted to google.

ive renamed all images so they match the page and subject they are on. ive also moved the images into the relevent folders under /images...

now what else can i do to help get me on the first page of google and how long should it take to get to the first page? weeks or months?

ive read somewhere about internal linking but not 100% what i should be going there
