Prividing your invoice and the declared vlaue match up, there is little they can legally do. As the item is not specifically banned or illegal they have to return it to you.

If Wicked have under declared the value though, best bend over and grab your ankles.

No but they can then whack you for the full amount of import duty and VAT.
And your phone is now tagged as belonging to a Laser Terrorist !

First Aircraft round your way that gets targetted with a laser and I reckon you can look forward to a visit from Plod to help them with their enquires .......

Then try it an other way
They wouldn't do it. UK customs would just seize the goods for destruction and give you nothing.

They're not the least bit helpful.

No they can't blame you when you haven't made the declaration providing they can't prove that you had a hand in the under declaration. They will however as Soforene says hit with you customs charges against the full value of the goods.

...which is what would've happened anyway if it was marked at full value, so no loss. And in fact it might turn out to be cheaper if you are dealing direct with HMRC as you might not be hit with the 'additional £10 admin fee' which is so popular with postage firms these days.

Assuming you actually do get your laser, its a no lose situation on the money front.
