Question Tron Legacy Laser Sho...anybody know Whodunit?

    Hey Kats...

So, some of you may have heard me griping-about losing a slated laser-show for the Tron Premiere in NYC - not to 'competition' nor to 'budget' - but to the *theater* telling the producers of the event that they, "would not allow lasers in their theater"

Yeah, I *asked* all the logical wt??-questions (they do-know these aren't water-cooled?, they do-know we possess the ClassB license / ins. / Var, etc, etc? and they do-know we can't possibly 'burn the screen' since the proposed-fx were to be in the lobby, etc, etc..) - But arrgh, alas, it was a lost-cause (not to mention the healthy show-budget, which would have single-handedly helped boost the SoCaLEM funding...)...

...And, now, just to 'rub salt in our wounds', the Cosmos has arranged a pretty full-fledged laser show to get contracted / performed, out here, right under our bruised noses, for the West Coast-premiere... and we never-heard a local-peep about it... Talk about a bummer-month...

Anyhoo, from the looks of it, seeming to be at ~ 6-7 solid-state units, and rather sparse-animation (save for the 'logo-tracing' near the end, and some...yawn...exterior werk) I would have bet-on production by a certain *coffarctos-coffdealer coff coff* or, possibly the other 'MegaBux Co' that seems-to lick-up all the decent hi-profile sho ops in the States... you know the one, remember the 'SuperbowlSho'?

Anybody know 'whodunit'? Just curious, promise this is not for-purposes of 'mud-slinging'... I mean, I can see - sure - some beams and fans, but personally I would have gone with far-less green 'flash n trash' and far-more inclusion of 'Troncentric' werk, like, this fine little-piece (apparently) from 'AVI': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2c3iWHgmn8 ...kudos, AVI... .. blended with some nice, well-timed aerials / beams, and a breathtaking - yet safe - audience-enveloping, super-bright tunnel at the end, ie:

I doubt it would be any trademark at all, since it's a regular noun in the English language.

That's also the reason why 'Windows' is not enforceable as trademark in English-speaking countries.

The Sollingers look nice, but imho, I didn't really care for the mix of yellow + green at the 'same time' - Y + B is very sexy, but something 'visually disconcerting' about the
Y + G - feels kinda 'parochial' or something... not very 'techno / Tronic', to-me... I would have mixed-in more use of cyan w/ the deep blue, and/or white w/ the yellow...
but not green.... ...to each, his own, I guess...

I would have also expected to see more '3D Tron-centric' graphics, ie, like the job AVI did for their Tron-launch shows in FL (?), ie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2c3iWHgmn8 ...nice werk... Oh, I already posted-that, duh...

Though, certainly, lasers set to Daft Punk = kewl... *sigh* if-only AMC hadn't -canned our shot at doing the NY premiere... Oh well, maybe for Tron III in 2025...

    thx for the Ref...
