Casio RED Led

Does anyone know the pinout of the BIG RED LEd from a Casio Projo? It has 8 blue wires coming out and two wires for the TEC.

Sorry -- I tore it apart....... It appears that pins 1,2 & 3 are + , 4,5 & 6 are - , and 7,8 are a heat sensor.
It is really bright at 3 Amps. I'll try to find a Max for it.

Correct and Let me know your findings. If I remember correctly it's around 15A.

I thought I had heard over 10 Amps but I can't find it. That poor TEC will need all the fan it can get!

You can download the datasheet for them directly from the manufacture (Phatlight), I believe it is the PT54, but it might be the PT39 (if someone wants to take a caliper to the die we can confirm). In either case, they are good for about 10A if you cool them well, and are about 10% efficient.

Looks like I counted backwards on the pinout. No matter, A DMM on diode check will easily confirm the connection.
It's so bright at 3 Amps ----- 10 Amps WOW

Let me see if I can get you a picture here.


It worked ---- !! In this picture, the top 3 wires are + The three wires below are - The other two may be a temp sensor --- I haven't checked that yet. The Red & Black are TEC leads.
