Default which glass for laser window in case

hi, building my first projector and the question raised what type of glass to use for the front window where the laser will go from inside to outside.
I have been looking at the local glass shop for non-reflective glass, is this good enough?
this is also used to frame photo's on the wall.

you should go for BK7 glass, broadband (400nm-700nm) AR coated glass
but it may prove hard to find and/or expensive...

(by the way, if you find it online, do post a link. i will be needing one, at some time from now)

Unless you're using an ungodly-amount of 405nm "CDAR" by Edmund Optics is the 'cats-pajamas' - available in all sorts of sizes, and even larger-plates, you can 'cut down' yourself... here's a post I did awhile back about the stuff, with a link, etc -

    Hope this helps, m8's...

hey, never saw a cat in pajamas... and a very nice price for them, too. definately worth a try. i suggested bk7, only because of the 445. but since only 405 is affected and i have no 405 installed i'm fine

i read that back reflections are effectively eliminated. but still, do you think it's a good idea to mount the window just slightly tilted (just a tiny bit), so what's left of the back reflections is directed elsewhere? edit here--> reading your older post, point taken, tilt is the way to go. thanks

    thanks for your hints dsli_john

I use a camera lens filter on my projector and epoxied an adapter ring to the front. This allows me to easily remove the filter glass by unscrewing it. If it gets dirty I can unscrew it and clean it. Or, if it is really dirty I can throw it in the trash and buy another for $30 or so.
