    Default lottery

    ok then ladies and gents
edison has suggested by pm that i take care of the lottery thing and get this running.
before i start please read below, and if no one has a problem
    i will start this tomorrow

    so here goes,
as this is a fund raiser for admin and want to make max use of this kind offer
from edison, and still keep the odds fairly good, the ticket count will be set
a little higher at 150 tickets max .the entry rule is simple ,
1, you must be an active member of this forum for a least 30 days of this date 26/12/10, this is to stop people joining just to take part in this lottery.
2, it will run untill all tickets sold or untill closing date 30th jan
    3, 1 ticket per enterant
entry price is set at $10 per ticket.
4,entry payment is by paypal only (those that dont have paypal , its not hard to setup, or get a friend to do it.

    fund collection.
i will start another thread when this all starts
i have cleared down my paypal account each entry is to be sent to my account
and when this is all finished ,all funds sent to admin and reciept posted on here
ticket numbers will be issued in the order of payment recieved and posted in the new thread started.
paypal payments must be sent as a gift (or i will end up with a load of fees to pay )

    number drawing.
i will ask admin to use a random number generator
http://www.random.org/ and post the result on the new thread

if any one has any issues or i have forgotten anything with anything mentioned please speak up
this lottery starts in just over 24 hours @ 20:00 hrs gmt
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

I changed my mind, I'll go 2 tickets and if I win the laser, I'll put it back up for another raffle or auction.

Admins needs out way my needs for more lasers.
    This space for rent.

I'm willing to buy 2 tickets if not restricted to 1. Maybe a 2 ticket limit would work better if it had to be limited as even then you need 75 purchasers to reach the 150 limit. Not necessarily easy as I'm not sure there are 75 regular users on here.

Also, one thing you have forgotten Badger, PayPal payments will need to be GIFTS otherwise PayPal will deduct fees.

Students or whatever can remain guests if they want but every one to there own.

I withdraw from this raffle for willingness to help in this way because we might be thought of as just seizing an opportunity but instead I vote on behalf of the hobiests to add a donation button to this forum so that we may also be able to show our appreciation to Spec for the good things that happen here that make a difference in our lives. No excuses from members please about why your memberships should be exclusive only to you in your way,you are not the only ones here who like to use these forums and even benefit from it with hard cash coming your way by selling things or making a raffle that gives you greater odds of winning? Were is your charity and Christmas spirit? Is it about winning or the rich making the rich richer?
OPEN A DONATION BUTTON AND ILL DONATE 20DOLLARS (DOUBLE) FOR NOTHING IN RETURN, NOT EVEN MEMBERSHIP.

I mean this in all humbleness and from the heart and I also believe any rebuttal to this would seem like an act of selfishness from anyone save Spec himself.

In saying this once the donate button is open the hobiests should also step up to the plate seems they all can afford a 50 dollars for a 445 diode, just a little something you know?

It's funny how a generous non selfish act by edison needs to turn ugly..

The admin needs some help... That is the only thing that matters right
now.. There are a lot of active Members that do it publicly and some
    active members do it privately...

The admin can easily install the Donate button if he so chooses...
    (other Forums do it...)
BTW... Donations are still being sent without it...

    Way to go dnar...

    2 Things this site needs:

    - Donate button
    - more subscribers

    - A ad on the top ad That's only visibile to none subscribers
Members that pay get an extra advantage of not having the ad.

In other words non members even pay by having the ad there and members pay too.
and 1 ad on the top there isn't that bad now is it?

At least the our spec can get an decent payment (at least more) and the site can live on

Best thing is to look for a payment-per-view ad system, they give alot less, but likely nobody will be actually clicking on the ads.
Also off course no pop-ups and NO sound from the ads.

I recommend contacting multiple laser companies / suppliers for an ad placement.

If people have suggestions to help Photonlexicon going maybe its good to open another thread. This Lotery is to help the administrator personal.

Lets concentrate on the Lotery for now. Badger will open a new thread to help the administrator. So keep an eye on that if you want to participate in this lotery

Donate on more than one occasion for hobiests to show our support mate or just pay a tenner for premium memberships like you have made plenty cash of your own yeah?
We would like to openly be apart of this as much as you.

This is fair play and not in the least selfish!
A little search found this... hope this helps...
