Default Laptop Help - Processor and SSD

right im looking to upgrade the laptop a bit. i currently have the highlighted processor.

im probably going to upgrade to the T6600, would luv the T9600 but its a little out the price range at the moment. been checking prices etc and the t6600 seems to be a pretty good price.

currently got 4gb of ram, the laptop can take a max of 8gb

    t9600 - 6M Cache, 2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz
    P8700 - 3M Cache, 2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz
    p8600 – 3M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz
    P7450 – 3M Cache, 2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz
    T6600 – 2M Cache, 2.20 GHz, 800 MHz
    T6500 – 2M Cache, 2.10 GHz, 800 MHz
    T4300 – 1M Cache, 2.10 GHz, 800 MHz
    T4200 – 1M Cache, 2.00 GHz, 800 MHz
    T3000 - 1M Cache, 1.80 GHz, 800 MHz

im also possibly interested in a 64gb SSD, but am not 100% whats classed as fast and whats not.

anyone help or got any views?

I'm currently running a pair of OCZ Vertex 2's in raid 0 in my desktop, boots 7 Ultimate in around 15 seconds. They support the trim command so pretty much look after themselves.

Laptop wise; I would consider buying an i series processor, they are take the piss fast compared to Pentiums.

unless you have a magical raid controller that passes TRIM your not actually using TRIM on your drives FYI

and I am partial to the Intel SSD's... we use them for caching on SQL servers at work

Yeah, I like the OCZ Vertex 2's as well. They are plenty fast and cheap... well, for an SSD. And yes, I series processors rock. One of my customers just bought an i5 core laptop. It's very nice.

If you can afford it, I'd go for the Vertex 2 series. Their write speed is faster.
