Dayum. You see, that would have never happened if her were listening to Led Zep.

Back when I was a young punk I used to do sub installs for my friends. They'd be like, "Here's $3K, show me what you can do." I threw the timing chains on 3 engines due to the vibration. Bass that loud is just annoying. Makes your nose itch. Don't think my ears fared out too well either.

    Ah the infamous brown note.

I'll take quality over quantity any day.

Well this is defiantly a severe case of penis substitute! What good is 154dB SPL in car, absolutely useless!

Hey guys, anybody wanna come over, I’m doing a 20W Laser show in my mirror tiled bathroom… that’ll pop your eyes out. And while that’s goin on we can all go scuba diving in the bathtub.

No thanks, I’ll just take a seat here in front of my good old JBL L100’s (hard to believe these are 30+ years old) being fed from a good old Carver TFM-42, Rotel setup…..Yeah!

I totally agree, there's a factory Bose system in my Audi, 125W RMS total system power. It gives a totally balanced, crystal clear sound that cuts through all road and engine noise even at {censored} MPH.

I don’t know…but I’ve been designing and building speakers for about 35 years now (one of my other hobbies) and one thing I’ve learned, is that a speaker system should be designed and dimensioned for the environment it will be used in for optimal performance. The inside of a car roughly has enough volume to accommodate maybe 2 18” woofers as a cabinet space. So your not listening to the speaker, you’re sitting in it (cars are bad acoustic environments). Beyond that a speaker needs an optimal drive to respond correctly, that being said I seriously doubt that this system can sound good at a usable listening level (1 Watt can produce a comfortable listening level) without major equalisation which will be bringing phase issues with it. The best listening space for this system is probably somewhere outside the car.

Well, I hear you about the accoustics of a car, but I doubt this actual system would sound better anywhere else than in this exact car model as it was designed from the ground for it.

Bose had a big say in the positioning of things like window motors, the shape of the internal trim etc, all the drivers are in properly designed enclosed cabinets. They did extensive testing on the actual body shell and designed this system properly for this car. I'm not saying that it sounds better than my home audio equipment, but I feel it sounds as good as it could be expected to in this car; keeps me smiling anyway.
