after some more focussing i got a more narrow beam, used the attached prism alignment sheet from zoof, thanks for that, and now have a more or less acceptable but still much larger dot than my green and red so will await the minilem for more help. for the moment it is acceptable.

You need to have stripe come out of the diode vertical. Also when having the lens set in focus you will keep a stripe even after the prisms. To get a square you have to set the lens just out of focus turning it anticlockwise and make it as high as your green spot at ten meters. Then set the prism like the template from zoof until you get a square that matches your green. Thats how i do it for people who want to have my blues matched with their greens.
