That,s a good idea. A PBS with a waveplate on top is not so fragile and easy to install.

If they are available i would like to have a couple

When I asked about a thicker plate, the company suggested the possibility of gluing a thin wave plate to a thicker piece of optical glass, however, they were worried this wasn't a good idea, as it would sacrifice the wave plates flatness.

Ok, Ill get something designed up, but maybe not until after the weekend. I don't think a retainer will be very expensive, I guess around the $10 mark. More likely even less if the wave plate is simply glued into the ring, rather than having a second threaded ring to screw the plate in... Ill draw up some designs, and see what the group thinks.

Planned time scale depends on how long the list takes to grow. Hopefully sooner rather than later tho

    Dave,
could you ask the manufacturer if they also fabricate broadband (achromatic) 1/2 wave plates.
One 1/2 plate for all wavelengths between 445 and 660nm.

    I would take 4 at 445nm
Maybe some at 640 as well but still looking for a good deal on some 640 diodes.
