    Hi Dave,

    I'll post this here rather than PM as others might be interested in the answer also.

    Q. How critical is the angle of incidence with these wave plates?

    Good question!

    To me, the angle of incidence doesn't seen very critical. Maybe one of the holigraphy guys might be able to expand on the answer tho.

    A degree or two either way doesn't seem to make much difference. However, I'm not sure why you would want to place the plates at an oblique angle from normal.

    I found these .pdf files which are quite useful for explaining the theory of waveplates.

    I don't wish to place the plates at an oblique angle, I am trying to determine how anal I should be, that is all. Where: r = final results, f = free time, m = murphy's constant, e = experience and anal = r((f/e2)+m).

    Any chance their might be one or two mounted or unmounted 532 nm waveplates left over? I could use one very badly!
