    Cool Just for kicks!!

I was just sitting here messing with the latest addition to my gas laser family, when I got asked by my best friend:
(What is the total amount of power from all your lasers?)
Thats when it hit me!! I dont know..lol!!!
So with that, Im going to start adding it all up!
    This includes pointers,Ions,DPSS,ect...
Which comes to my next thought..Just how much power is on here?! Ever thought about it?
This could be fun and scary

A good way of working to be honest. I turned my computer off whilst we went away over Xmas and 2 disks failed to come back when i rebooted it. I think that was the first time off for any significant time for 2 yrs or more.

Time to try the usual tricks to recover them, I usually get something back so all is not lost.

I always check my email right away when waking up for example.
however now is the first time my computer is getting a heavy upgrade.
it is being reassambled in a bigger case with a new motherboard which is brand new and ALOT more slots and a new power supply for it.
and I estimate it being back in about 3 days.

In these 3 days I have to set these things on halt:
    - 3D modelling
    - 3D animation
    - 3D texturing
    - 3D programming
    - Laser optimized flash videos (.swf)
    - XNA to laser
    - Shadow art

As soon as it is upgraded I can continue my work again, no files will be deleted and the OS will not be reinstalled

In the meantime people can ask me questions and I can give guidance for 3D work.

It doesn't happen often that I'm out of reach from my main computer, im using a laptop at the moment.

I also have some realtime 3D stuff related a bit to XNA to laser planned, I'm keeping those secret until I get results myself so people can't for example do some things before I did it
call it a bit mean but it's also a bit fair.. as always the first person making something calls it his work.
I will prevent working this way though

hrmm... lets see... I would have to add it all up

in my 3 projectors (full color and two beam tables) it adds up to 10.15W

in functioning but unused (currently) modules it would be another 3W

in unbuilt modules it would be another 12W

add my ProDJ laser thats currently putting out like 10W (needs a new KTP)

    so total is 35.15W

a new KTP would bring me up to 65.15W

Ooohho, you meant a crystal!! Well, I might have one or two xtra of those, too... Once you get your Green Monster up, will havta start hookin ya on the 600-series dye-head... seeing 10W of Red is... just... well, self-explanitory!

Cool idea, Matt - hadn't ever really thought about things this way, before... Surprisingly, we've "only" got about 215.25 Total Watts in our arsenal... I'm sure Clan has got us beat by an order of magnitude or so.. Oh, and I didn't count any of the 'fundamental' YAGs' powers... that would kinda 'skew' the results...

@ Matt... ever wonder what's *inside* one of yer ion-laser magnets?
