    Default Galvo/Amp problem.

    Hello everyone,

I was over at Lasermad's before Christmas doing some work with him on his projectors. We got one finished and decided to test it out using an FB3 and Quickshow. Our test was a horizontal piece of text, but when we projected the text the projected the image the projection was not horizontal, it was going diagonally. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Make sure that the beam is coming into the scanners square - you must bounce off the x scanner straight up (or down) to the Y scanner so it draws a straight line on this parallel to the shaft If you dont the output will be skewed.
If the beam is angled up or down in relation to the x scanner shaft it will not matter as it wont change the angle the beam hits the y mirror, but if you are coming in from in front or behind the centre line you will get a skewed image

If you wire you amps faulty, you can get a skewed image too.

For example, if you short y- and x- of the dac to the amp ground you can get a skewed image too.

If you swap x- and y-, pretty weird things happen to your image too.

    Get rid of floating grounds.
If your scanner amps are single ended make sure their grounds are tied to the ilda pin 25 gnd.
Better yet, post a picture of the skewed image + how you wired it up so we can help you better.
