Buffo, i did not expect this request to draw such fire. I assure this was not meant to be a troll, I am however quite offended by the prolification of the euphemism. Much like other words that have attached to them a certain derogatory connotation, the word "retard" tho not directly defined as a negative descriptive term for someone who has special needs, has become directly linked to that definition. As someone who has family members with special needs, I believe that ignorance can only be cured with awareness. I just hosted a wonderful event to support the Maryland Special Olympics. I have myself, in recent years, been quite ignorant of how something as small as a word, can effect the lives of others.

I had no idea that "awesome smiley" was referred to as retardoface here. As for those that are complaining that this is one of my first posts since 2009, your correct, but as soon as i returned i was greeted with a redirector that i had never seen before, and was quite offended by. I had no idea (or just completely missed it or forgot) that the icon had that name (of course i know the icon, i have scanned it myself). Sorry to cause such an upheaval.

Some times one has to learn when not to be offended. The world is full of references to things that may offend some.

The key is to learn not to be offended. Especially when the "offensive" material was not aimed at you.
