Does anyone know any info on Big sky lasers? I have a yag laser head that I got to gut,but it looks to nice to gut The head is 10" long and is water cooled Ill have to post some pics, but I see the flash tube and its gas intact. The whole thing looks brand new!! I broke the seals to get the cover off, so I know no ones monkeied around the inside.
I was going to use it to make a masive 445nm laser, but if I can get this to work Ill leave it be

Hook a small hene supply or some other small HV source to the two flashlamp leads and zap it for a second while looking at the electrode end of the flashtube and see if it lights. Don't run it for long or you'll burn up the lamp. If the flashlamp is still intact, you could buy an old photo flash head and use it to fire the tube.

It lights and I have a flash,but It wont fire it, it needs the trigger, and Im not sure how to do that..

Ok I figured out how to make this small flash lamp fire,but I dont think this unit has a enough to fire this tube

How big is your flash supply? You're gonna need a fairly good size unit to get it to lase. That flashlamp must be series triggered unlike my unit. You could try connecting the trigger wire to the gold part of the cavity, it may be enough to ionize the tube.

If you do manage to get it working. let it cool like a minute between pulses since you don't have coolant flowing. Oh, and you need DI water for that. Don't use tap water like an argon.

What color is the rod? You should be able to see it if you hold the cavity to a light and look down the bore. If it's pinkish, it's Nd:YAG. If it's greenish, it's Er:YAG.
