The case was milled by Ivan at his shop.

If you're playing around on a mill yourself, the description of what
we did is below... It's a perfect project since we did not use CNC
at all for that case! I'd be happy to get you dimensions, but since
it was sized specifically for the parts going in, the numbers won't
    be pretty.

So a little bit of a howto... We knew the size of the system going into the
unit so the enclosure was mocked up on cardboard to get dimensions.

Ivan took an U channel aluminum extrusion, cut two pieces to length on
a chop saw. (If you have a smaller chop, you can flip the part over)

Then the edges of the extrusions were "trued" on a kneemill to make the
seam almost invisible... The two halves were mated to create a tube, and
the endplates were pencilled onto some 1/6" plate. The plates were sawed
and sanded until they were perfectly flush, and then the holes were drilled
and tapped on the extrusions to fit all four pieces together...

Before any of the openings were cut, the holes for the components were
drilled and tapped out... A bottom end tap was used (threaded all
the way to the bottom and not tapered like most hand taps) to keep from
punching out the back to keep the outside attractive.

Once all the parts were mounted, the holes were pencilled in and
cut, since we weren't using the CNC, slow and steady cuts and lots
of measuring and back'n forth was involved.

Then it was polished on a wheel, and sent off to the anno shop... When we
got it back we assembled the system as you saw in the pics...

The only two "machinist tricks" was trueing the edges and the bottom end tap.

Oh yeah! If you're looking for a budget box, then what I'd recommend is just
getting a premade "aluminum project box" enclosure... They make them
big! This one was built more for robustness than anything else...

The premade ones you can buy use one piece extrusions (the project box thing)
The problem is that it's hard to get to the internal components when you
want to tweak with them... so we made our own knockoff of the standard
enclosure idea but using two pieces of thicker metal...

It seems like a nice little projector. What power is the laser and galvos inside of it?

Conveniently enough I wrote a review of the laser inside that unit...

    http://photonlexicon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=191

The scanheads are Catweazle LC's that we bought from Medialas
a long long time ago... If you're looking at new, depending on
how professional you want to go, I'd recommend either the
actual CT6800s (For performance and longevity) or the
knockoff CT's (for price and reasonable performance)...
