I don't have a link but if you do a little googling you can find a lot about those calipers. Some people use them as DRO position indicators on mills and lathes because you can connect a cable to them and get the position info as well as control them to some extent. The communications protocol is well documented. It's basically a pulse encoded serial interface. Have fun and thanks for the link!
