they guys over at LPF are claiming they are getting ~1.9W average out of some of these 445 diodes... they are still ca$io diodes though

Thumbs down Smells like bull shit to me.

I had to pull my boots up once I got on that site. I don't know anything about the seller but he makes some bold claims. I am sure you could get 2W out of some of these but they probably won't last long.

    Default Proof read!

    He should proof his pages!

Operating current: 400 to ,000mA (requires adequate heatsink)
I try to avoid sites that claim diodes are

Don't forget he didn't mention any duty cycle! A 445 will happily sustain a few Amps for several seconds... after which the smoke comes out.

Keep in mind that we as projector builders will often run these things for hours on end CW, whereas the pointer peeps will just pulse or toggle the button when they want to see a pretty beam.

That guy smells like Dark Lasers that was thrown off LPF for
making outrageous claims on lasers he was building/selling
then ripping members off because he couldn't supply what
he claimed and wouldn't refund the customer...

Not saying he's the same guy... but he sure sounds like the
    same snake oil salesman...

As to the claims on LPF of 1.9Watts... I would ask on which
LPM that reading was taken before I would accept the results
    as facts..
But I guess that's just me...

I’ve been selecting diodes out of the batches that I’ve bought and the best efficiency that I’ve found was 1285mW @ 1000mA (raw diode power) so it’s probably possible to get a diode to emit 2000mW @ 2000mA but I don’t think that the joy will hold very long as your diode mutates to a fryode. About less than 8% of the diodes I’ve selected did over 1200mW @ 1000mA..

Default The Group Concurs, Casio diode array part number any one any one Bueller Bueller

I will agree with the group consensus on this one and will cease and desist in further contact with said company too bad they are not legit they are only 30 minutes from my house.
By the way does anyone know what the Casio part number is for the diode Array?
I know you already tried to order the part and got no where but I have a possible trick up my sleeve and it may mean lower cost diodes for all if I can confirm the part number.

    Thanks for your input
    Michael
