it would not move Rob , so opened case . Something is loose as i can hear a rattle from the diode assembly . I will take a photo as looking at it the optics look out of line. the ring seems be be just a filter , not a focus.

OK well just remember that it cant be too sick as its still making green light - appart from the beam size do you think the power is good? Whats it rated at do you think it looks like it could be in this ball park or do you think its dimmer than you would expect for that power?
Lets hope its just a focus lens inside that needs re-attaching.
Be careful in there as if the cavity is open there will be a fair ammount of IR circulating that you wont be ablt to see and some you will see as a very faint red light. The faint red is the pump light and is misleading as it will be probably a watt or light - be careful.

We had a Lambdapro laser with a similar problem. Turns out the collimator lens had fallen off. Glued it back in place and sweet as.

Sounds like its likely to be the same with this one. Lets hope so.

I have also had a couple of these ...... and as dave knows .... they are a pig to adjust
fortunatly the collimator is just silicon glued on the end .... but the rest is a nightmare
as you can see in the photo below its just a glorified laser pointer .... with a TEC .... but the tec is in the wrong place ... the tec is mounted on the end of the barrel and frequently becomes unglued causing the pump diode to fail .... also thermal transfer to the base plate is very poor , the heat has to travel from the barrel then right angles through the end plate then to the alu base plate then to the case,
each section of the optics is mounted on a ring which is glued together then tweeked before the glue sets then slid inside the main barrel impossible to replace individual components .....
this is where laserwave and CNI are so superior as they are user servisable to a degree
all the best ... Karl

Power is supposed to be around 150mw but to be honest it does not come close to my PM27 i had which was 200mw . Sounds like the same issue as some others have had but my rattle is from inside the tube.. After you re-fitted the lens was the output much imroved ? Thanks for the advice. Has anyone replcaced the actual diode for a more powerful one ? Mine is the UG 120MW but was tested by previous owner at 149 mw . I have the LPS 100 SUPPLY , what would be the most powerful module or diode i could use with this supply. Im looking for 250mw max. I also have some issues with my catweazles , one galvo seems to be moving but not as it should , other is ok.
Rob i know you sell the DT30 but can you repair & setup my catweazles ?

on the east coast between Dundee & Aberdeen. Got interested in lasers after working at Flicks as light jockey using the Laser system Magnum 2 controller & the 2 watt argon twin head .

		Paul
there is another Scotister who is a member here though he doesnt pop in very often.
The guy is near Aberdeen and his UN is setsinmotion
So you got 6!
