I told him the exact same before.
Just save up for ilda.
DAC's like easylase offer support for dmx too.
Also in my personal opinion dmx and no ilda when having the port: is a waste of time and moneyzz
and tbe controller just a waste of space.
Why did you get new galvos? For dmx getting new galvo's help.... But again a waste.
I already told you not to get dmx only, but if that is what you really want then ok.

What do galvos have to do with dmx?
And i dont want a usb interface, thats why i want ilda.
And thanksgoninanblood for the linkand laserwinkel for the offer![]()
You are unique! Just like everyone else...
Mum: What do you want for breakfast? Me: Lasers Ofcource!
Well galvo speeds (I think you bought um 30kpps ones right?)
well its a bit of a waste if it is 30kpps since dmx doesnt offer that much graphics except maybe some crappy build in ones and if you're "just a bit lucky" you have an SD card slot where you can play ilda's from.
also DMX requires you to still need to hook up a pc to actually controll it (except for the sound mode, but that doesn't need DMX
Really no offense but you confuse me.
You do not want usb thats why you want ilda?
um... you need an usb controller to have your ilda or DMX.
ok with the exception of PCI DMX controllers and PCI ilda controllers (or net based devices)
but they are more rare than usb controllers.
The only thing is that you can use a paralell port of your pc and with an homemade simple DAC you can controll it.
2 things about that:
- It eats A LOT of resources
- It's not compatible with that much sofware.
I really suggest you save that money up for an ilda controller, and often they also have dmx in/out.
Just a bit more time of saving up, but 9000 Times more fun + longer fun.
Really I'm not trying to be mean here, but Im just saying what is most cost effective in the end and more fun to use.
I think once you connect it to the DMX control you cannot put it in sound active mode unless you program some things up threw the dmx board (if your board has sound active function some dont) and set your dmx board for sound active mode. Atleast thats how my older cheap laser projector is with one of those pt-trust dmx cards in it. It just lets you select certain patterns out of what is programed in the board then you have to save that to like chases then set those to goto the music threw the dmx contrl board. Kinda a pain. So if you dont go threw and do all the programming in the dmx board all you get is a image that you can pan up and down and left and right, etc threw the dmx board.
To be on topic, a verrryyyy cheap DMX controller which is also opensource. ~

Compattible with Open DMX Entec driver, which is included in a software called Freestyler found here.

This should be around about 3 to 10 euro's~
Rubdub release? A alternative lasercam/screen.
To be relevant to the OP, he has very little knowledge or skill in electronics or building stuff. I would recommend the Open DMX from Enttec as a cost effective off the shelf solution, and compatible with a reasonable range of software too.
Uhh, side note.
DMX may or may not be implemented through a computer, hardware DMX controllers do exist in the form of lighting desks.
But yes, a USB to DMX dongle is the equivalent of a DAC for lighting, whereas a physical lighting desk is the equivalent of a cue board/control desk.
It's like things before USB- lasershows were run from a physical cue board.
