I'm fairly new to lasers, but have done some research, id like to know if I can get more bang for my buck for a brighter, better laser for that price. Although I do not want to order from overseas.

Anyone interested in building me a laser? or have something for sale that is stronger?

    Exclamation

Go to CTLasers; gottaluvlasers here on PL. He can build a system better than that for about that price and I think it will be leagal for public use.

Thats ~4K and is 2.2W RGB. I dont know about you but I would pick 2.2W over 500mw.
    10W RGB
    2x 5W RGB
    2x 3W RGB
    2x 1W Green

2.2 watt indeed! i'm looking for a full colored laser. With all those colors included, and around 4k... that's a pretty good deal, now who is going to make it for me? Connecticut lasers, I just sent them an email.

I would go through CTLasers because of the case they will use for you. You may not get 2.2W for that price but you will be dealing with someoen who does this professionally and can guide you in the right direction.

Default for fun or profit ?

if you are looking at public shows talk to CT lasers or x-lasers for the price the lumalaser is not bad with the free paper work. also you will need training and exam to laser legal in AZ.

Yep, I would be careful of any 'marketing-fluff' about 'free paperwork' - with AZ, it's quite a bit-more complex, than just your FDA Variance - not trying to 'discourage'
you, but you've heard the term, 'Don't Mess with Texas'? ...well, trust-me, 'Don't with AZ!'... ...TX Regs are a walk in the park compared to AZ...

I'd get in touch with Sir Karl, Laser Wizardry, for all the low-down on the AZ-scene, he'll steer ya right... Just a friendly fyi...

    peas..
    j

PS - NOT 'speaking ill' of Luma or CT or X-Laser - all good Co's, all sell Certified, legal and safe products - just speaking to the AZ-regs...
Again, imho talk to Karl, first, he'll steer you straight...

I plan on taking the full colored laser on tour with my band, worldwide, USA, Australia, Japan, Canada, Europe, do I have to take a test in every city I go to? I don't understand. Most venues will be the typical medium to large known rock venues. House of Blues's, The Palladium, El Corazon.

    Any comments?

In the US, you have to file a variance. This allows you to fly laser beams greater than 4.99mW above the audience. It's a little more complicated when peoples eyes are at stake.
