Brainstorm ? : ? Whats hot in retail ?

Bit off the wall i know guys , but been looking at some small retail spaces as a few have became available locally at good rentals,short leases , the sites could be considered secondary and are in Trendy cosmopolitioan bit of city with a population of 1 million.

I have a few ideas but just wondering , anybody seen any unusual retail ideas out there of late , just looking for ideas , id rather do something different and unusual

Any thoughts , 600 brains are better than one

anything that has to do with food usually does well

so, something like delicatessen, ethnic stuff, spices, healthy food, whole grain stuff etc maybe?

Here in Australia espresso coffee shops are huge. Numerous franchises florish, some offer free WiFi Internet also, such as the Bean Bar in Adelaide.

Another big hit here is the Boost Juice franchise. Fruit smoothies etc. A very successful house wife started the chain and she is reaping in big bucks. The teenagers go for it big time.

Food or women's cosmetic/beautifying products. Everybody needs food and women always have spare money for 'products'.

Talking of which; I was stopped by a woman doing a street survey today. She asked me what grooming products I used. You should've seen the look on her face when I said "Harribo and puppies"

women move the economy in various ways

- direct purchases, things they buy for themselves
- things they purchase as gifts for others (they always find a reason to buy someone a gift)
- things people buy to get over / escape / forget women
- things others buy to get women
