Default 20V 1kW power supply for anodizing

I'm searching a DC power supply which can deliver at least 17V, with a lot of amp (50 would be perfect, but 40 is acceptable). At a fair price, so a surplus one comes to mind...

For anodizing big aluminium plates, of a laser projector, by example

The best of the best would be a lab style power supply, with adjustable voltage and current.

Yeah thanks for the links, but I already checked on eBay and found nothing which perfectly fit my shoes. Either too expensive, too high shipping prices or not enough current or voltage (I need minimum 17 volts / 40 amps). My last try was with a 15V 20amp and the power supply just burned...

Drop the voltage (and therefore the current) to 12v or use less sulphuric; you ony need about 100mA per square inch, even 30mA will work allbeit more slowly.

What are you anodising, a coffee table?

    Question

Lol Ben, a bit overkill isn't it :-)

My budget would be around 500$ shipping included. Otherwise I will better have to give my plates to a professionnal...

In fact that's not me who make the process but a friend who worked as anodizer. He knows how to do but just needs a proper supply.

That's my new projector's plates I need anodized and yes, they are big

Maybe with some really SLOW shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/Sorensen-DCR20-1...item5ade44c472

If not, better start rewinding transformers. Micorwave oven cores can be had for cheap or free sometimes.
