Default VPN control of PC running Quick Show with a Ipod touch?

    Good Evening all!
Just wondering if anyone is playing about with the above idea and if so, what VPN software would you recommend? Seems like there's quite abit of free software knocking around out there, but got a few days before the ipod (gen 1) hits home so any suggestions most welcome.

    Cheers

VPN? I assume you mean VNC...
VPN can not "control a PC" from anything.

If you're after VNC, don't. Use RDP. MUCH faster.
And built into every professional version of Windows since NT4.0

Any RDP compatible 'app' for iOS devices should work.
Mocha RDP Free works well and is free.
Personally I use Jump desktop (http://jumpdesktop.com/) not free and requires an additional server app on the host.

Setting up remote desktop on XP:

    - There is no such word as "can't" -
    - 60% of the time it works every time -

why would you use a VPN?

are you talking about remote control applications? You could use a VNC or RDP client on your ipod to remote control your QS machine, only reason you would use a VPN is to cross networks (such as the internet)

I personally would recommend trying RDP... enable remote access on your QS machine and then get the WYSE Cloud app for your iPod Touch, its by far the best RDP client I have used on an iDevice

Opps, My bad, sorry yes should not be chatting while posting. Writes must concentrate one hundred times!
Getting all my abbreviations confused, yes VNC!
Thanks for the pointers and the corrections!

    Cheers

Default TIP : remote desktop control

    Have you looked at www.teamvierwer.com
i use this also for assisting my parents so i don't have to drive over there every time they need assistence.
It supports windows, iphone, ipad and android and linux and it is free for personal use.
it can record sessions, exchange files, even vpn etc...

    I recommend iTap RDP
it's certainly the fastest out there.
Secondly it's the only one using the RDP protocol as far as I know off

third: it allows you to even stream the sound from your pc to your iphone directly.
However this is not really needed but still quite cool.

There are a billion more RDP programs for iOS than iTap.
