    Hi Andy,

Maybe have a look at this. it's not really designed for floor mounting but it may be worth thinking about. I was mostly thinking of the LED version down the bottom.

I worked for this company in 2002 when I was in the UK doing a working holiday.

They hand make top quality stuff with real style and character and are a real nice bunch of people with great ideas. The owner's Name is James Fox. He has a very keen eye on style and design. He designed and built his house with part of the bathroom with a glass roof, It looks awesome. Have a chat to him even if its just for some ideas. He is a real gentleman. (please say hi for me if you do).

Another thought is to use the fibre optic cluster mood lights like the star lights the us in ceilings. Bend radius aside, they could prove very flexible. You could run them between tile grout. Maybe consider having them spill from under the basin top or under the hand towel rails or kick board. I've lived in a house with direct LED fixtures and they can become quiet distracting and annoying after a while.

    Sounds like fun,

    Good luck

Worse than that; eyes just aren't designed to recieve direct light from below the horizon, it's more than distracting, it's annoying and causes headaches.

Though probably no use for a bathroom due to condensation etc; I've been working on a design for some 'moody' wall lights. They use up facing high power led GU10's directed at a dichroic reflector on a gimble. The beam passes through the dichroic and casts a blue to magenta light on the wall and ceiling, the reflected light casts a mellow yellow diffuse beam; the sum light is a soft white due to the diffues blue from the ceiling, I'll upload a picture later.
