Cool Anyone else want to chip in to help Jon cover this?

Ouch! I feel your pain, Jon.

SELEM always leaves me sweating bullets. I pay for the venue up front and then hope that the ticket sales will cover everything (shirts, food, etc). So far we've always ended up in the black with extra cash to donate to PL, but it's still nerve-wracking. This year the venue cost alone will be nearly a grand, which is double what it was back in 2007 when we started this thing. (Price we have to pay for getting big, I guess!)

So yeah, it's a huge responsibility, and it really sucks when something changes at the last minute and leaves you on the hook for serious cash. Maybe the folks that attended would be willing to chip in a little bit to help cover the extra cost?

Even though I wasn't there, I can contribute a little bit towards the cause... PP payment headed your way.

On stills yes you can lock ISO. On video, I guess it going to depend on the camera. Anyway was just a possible suggestion..

You Guys Rock! Really, thanks very-much... But, as much as your gestures are greatly-appreciated, I will *not* be going back to everyone with an open-hand, here - I've long-since eaten the overage (...which was mostly due to 3-4 'no-shows' (thus, effecting the 'budget') and a couple peeps that didn't end-up paying for their T's...) and, besides, I did *not* make the post to 'break-out the violin'... I mean, I don't mean to sound 'ungrateful' at-all, but that simply was not the 'point' of the post...

...I guess I just felt a bit 'burnt' at the lack of communication, mostly - I figured, since all polite vm's, emails, text-messages, and even a post, here (...which might 'get thru', assuming the 'subscription e-notification' was still in-place...) have been *totally* ignored for over a month, now...yeah, I guess I felt the need to 'send a message' to him, here in the thread....

Again - I will allow for the possibility of something *really bad* going-on, and if I get any comms to that effect, I will gladly wipe these posts-out, and publically-apologize for getting irritated... but, failing-that, *plus* the no-sho on the 'help', I don't know how else to 'interpret' this-all, but feeling like I've 'gotten the bird' - especially since a 'third-party' had been in-touch with said-person, and there was some discussion about this-topic... so, no, the guy's just choosing not to communicate. Whatever.

Anyhoo, since I don't want to ungraciously 'slap' any generosity already-sent (Thanks, m8's... I will simply 'pay it forward' to our Digital Captain... because since I had already-absorbed the loss from this 'offer-fail', had-it come-thru, it would have just been put-into the 'CSSF' (Cap'n Spec Salary-Fund , I am also working diligently to keep-up.. (He's been a great-help, btw... So, in any-case, a sincere and hearty, Thanks.

Oh well, someday, when the dollar fails and we're using bills for TP / fire-fuel for warmth, I'll laugh this all-off over a good bottle of sterno...

    Thanks again, Guys...

TBD, at least for me.. got *waaaaay* too-much on the plate, right now, to help / host one.. However, I can-say, that if/when I try to 'spearhead' the effort, again... we'll have - essentially - a free-place...

..I say 'essentially', cause, I'm sure we'll all wanna at least create a common-kitty for 'community-snax' / booze / wee..uh, I mean... um, wheat... bread. yeah. jk... But, seriously, 'Studio B is back'...

    ..small, (~20' x 30') but 'adequate'... ample 3Ø / water / sound / fog-juice / bounce-mirrors / loading-bay, etc, etc, etc, etc... and 'facility-wise' - free.. I mean, sure - if 3Ø-users feel like kickin-in a $10-spot for 3Ø-useage, well... go nuts..

But, it won't be 'obligatory', like when we rent-out a commercial facility and have no choice... Plenty of free parking, close-by food, freeways, etc no worries about noise, hours, 'proper decorum'.. I mean, heck - even if ya wanna come dressed-up in a 'Mayan-Zombie Apocalypse'-costume - you can!!...

ID:	30265 ..snap from a time we rented-out the 'studio' for - yep - a 'music-video shoot' for some.. well... 'Mayan-Zombie Apocalypse' music-video...

..point-being, if there was enough space for a 'Mayan-Zombie Apocalypse' music-video cast and film-crew / gear, etc.. the room will prolly work for a LEM...

So.. Dates I can 'offer to help / the space'? *shrugs*...but, not looking too-likely before, like...October... srsly... But, in all-honesty, we will *very-likely* have regular, small-group / private-party Laserium-shows, running in the Studio long-before then... which won't 'effect' the use of the space for a LEM, but.. point is, getting those-shows back / running, is a higher priority for our time / the space, than having a LEM... sorry..

    ....Then-again...

    Thoughts?
    ciao..
