i read somewhere that the a150 slightly tweaks the wavelength of the blue lasers...

i think you need to look a little harder.

although - 445nm according to tonto from nichia is a "truer blue" and will yield much better colours than 460nm.

460nm and 445nm mixed together. mm.

Got the spectrometer today, so peak of the blue is 440-445nm, no lines even close or above 450nm, not to mention 460nm.

There are no 460nm diodes in the A150, at least in the one I got here.

Sorry for the bad news.

EDIT: Of course someone else should verify, these were just my own personal findings, and I could be wrong, but I verified spectrometer with a green HeNe and its accurate for that reference.

If any one from this group is still interested in some 445s on my round two for 38 plus shipping which so far has come out pretty cheap even to europe, comon over I need to do a final count when all said and done on the first and there may be some more available I may be proded to do one more Round three if I have enough interest but that will be it I think my wife will kick me out of the house if I have any more projector carcuses sitting around. But of course I am the one employed at the moment soooo

He did say in the video that they tweaked the blue wavelength, and the colour gamut on both images is clearly different.

Maybe the 460nm is only in a prototype A150V (or possibly the A250) at the moment and they're waiting for a batch from Nichia to start production with 460nm lasers. So I wouldn't be surprised if the wavelength for the Casio projectors (A130, A140, A150) would shift to 460nm in the future.

Just a thought.. If someone with access to a spectrometer were to separate the 460s from the rest of a group, they could sell them at, mm, say, a substantially higher price than your standard 445s to someone who really wants a 460 .... I may be tempted to buy 1 or 2. How about U?

My home-brew spectrometer isn't up to discerning accurately enough over the needed range
Can't afford to buy a decent one at the mo.
I reckon I could get access to one at university relatively easily, but that would most likely only be to test one or two diodes. Not a bucket full...

Maybe if I had a bit more spare cash to throw at "R&D" on this, I could make it a go-er and get a proper setup to test each one.

I did go to the effort of securing a spec on a suitable dichro to combine 445nm and 460nm. Do-able, but the price made my eyes bleed.
