    Default blanking line issue

I just hooked up an, ahem... "inexpensive" 1W 445 laser to one of the projector assemblies I have.

When I tested it alonethe blanking it seemed to be working reasonably well - 0v was on and +5v (via a switch) was off.

I just connected the blanking line to a MediaLas USB box for testing and found that the blanking does not seem to work at all.

It needs to be inverted, so I was going to cobble together something using an LM324N opamp, but before I do - is there a standard way of "matching" these inconsistencies between DAC and laser?

Sometime ago I was having a discussion about this very problem where I was told inserting a 20K resistor in series seemed to help.

This is the first time I've experienced it.

I've had this problem on a chinese ildasplit/showcard and it required a 10k pulldown resistor to work.

Thanks - I hooked up a single transistor inverter and that seemed to take care of it.
