Cool 3D video projection on building

    Wow! check this out.
    http://sorisomail.com/email/74120/ma...nsacional.html

Anyone know how much skin melting power a video projector would need to do this?

How much do projectors like this cost? $100 000+?

The guys who did this production deserve everything they got paid. I imagine they will need it to pay for a behemoth projector capable of that!

It would have topped it off if the the animated fireworks launched to the top of the building then cued real fire works set off from the roof.

    Pretty inspiring stuff

I'm going to reach into a hat and pull out a figure of eight 20,000 lumen projectors at varying angles.

I would totally get into something like that if I found someone willing to pay for the service.

Thats pretty cool, but I did find some of the effects a bit gimmicky. Would have been better if it had a common theme running through the show, instead of it looking like a "look what I can do" show off.

    Pretty effective none the less.

Back in the 80's I was involved in a few Son Alumina's for heritage shows, we did not have anything like this back then, well except for 1 x kick arse light valve projector.
    This space for rent.

nothing too special and i have seen it pulled of better

i would say they are using a few barco R30's but it could have been sanyo plcxf-47(15k)

a far as software its probably modul8(mac software)

but i know of a few pc based software that can do this like visual jockey or isadora and a few more

i have done a few test concepts but never got a budget go for it large scale but i have done something similar on a smaller scale for an art install for David bowie

Yes I saw a similar thing a few years ago but on a much smaller and simpler scale. This band called Endorphine who were supporting Massive Attack had what looked like a weather ballon on stage and they projected an iris onto it that they moved around. It was so simple but it was quiet a striking effect having this giant eyeball keeping an eye on us all through the show.

    Default Urban Projection

I love this urban projection stuff...

Most of this is done with multiple projectors carefully placed and configured via software to create a seamless image. One of the leading pieces of software for this is D3...

This video, which you may have seen before, uses D3 and lots of carefully pre-produced material...

...and here's the behind the scenes which is very interesting...

I also know that Arkaos GrandVJ can be configured to blend multiple projectors seamlessly.
