Thread: Problem with USB EasyLase DAC !!!

    Default Problem with USB EasyLase DAC !!!

    I have :

    USB Easylase, Mamba black, DT-40 galvo.


    And i did do:

    Solder the wire from the galvo to the DAC
    X and Y signal from the X+ and Y+ pin ..
    And the ground - signal from Gavlo into the GND on the USB board...

    And the blanking BLACK-wire from laser into the GND on the USB dac.
    Then i connected the yellow to GREEN colour output + signal output from DAC, ( i did also try the blanking output, and i did also try with a resistor and not)

    The problem:


    I dont have blanking (the laser dont come ON at all....

    And one galvo is only moving a tiny bith (like half the way) !?!




    Symptons:

    When i make a line UP at the mamba, the laser goes UP..
    When I make a line horisontal, the laser only moves a TINY bit !


    But when I switch the X and Y wire from dac, it`s the oposite (that confirms that the galvo is OK)



    I have tryed to use this USB with popelscan, but nothing happens!!

    So i dont know what to do ?
    I understand that there is a + and a - I can try to use from the DAC, but my galvo have ONE GND togheter...


    And i`m going to try the + and - signal from DAC to blanking (and not + and GND)




    any info ?
    this is first time i try a USB dac... so i`m totally blank on this..

    problem solved about the galvo.

    I did soldered a 4k ohm resistor on each output that was not in use (the negative)

    Then the galvo was perfect

    The only problem now is the blanking.. not quite sure what the problem is there :roll:

    the swedish guy did told me that the laser he did used was inverted.. sooo maybe.. but not sure..

    Default laser blanking

    If it is inverted blanking laser....you may have to use the circuit that Marconi has for their old style lasers. They have updated now and they are all + blanking signal. They work great! It is posted in his gallery. I have made one of these and they do work. Just an opto using one circuit of the chip to reverse the signal voltages.

    Also...Dont forget

    Some software have provisions to do it in the menu somewhere too!!!

    EDIT:

    I did get my blanking finally

    Did put the blanking wire to the red and black on my laser..
