Default is it the same as m9x0.5

    Hello guys

I,m interested in buying a few lenses and they have them also fitted in a fine pitch threaded barrel.

Its fitted in a Threaded Mount, with 3/8-64 (.375-64) fine pitch thread.

Is this the same as m9x0.5 or is it different?

If anyone can shine his light on this that would be great

No, they are *REALLY* not the same.
For a start major diameter is 0.525mm larger, and the TPI is wayyy off (pitch: 0.3969mm vs 0.5mm).

Either get Optima to produce M9x0.5 housings
Or tap your diode holders to 3/8-64 UNS.

Yeah, I was looking at those Optima lenses yesterday.

They also sell the glass separately for $17. The lens is 6.4mm diameter so should fit an Aixiz metal tube.

Yes. It could be very convinient in my improved design. However the parts that i have already have m9x0.5 tread in it. I can build about 14 red setup

The advantage of having a standard thread in it is that you can also try other lenses. That reminds me i have to ask dave about his new lenses
